Founded in 2004, Romain Jerome is a brand that celebrates history. Famous for its "DNA of Famous Legends" collection, its main star being a high-end timepiece, which uses real steel from authentic parts of the ill-fated ocean liner, the Titanic, Romain Jerome continues to exude the avant-grade and visionary spirit of its CEO.
Within a few years of its launch this brand generated immeasurable interest and fan following across many continents. Romain Jerome is the brand, which exploded like a big bang and resulted in burgeoning desires in the minds of its fans. No more were people satisfied with the simple looking time keeping gadget. Romain Jerome had raised their expectations from a watch for a far superior technology.
The company´s birth, however, was inspired by the golfing fraternity who sought a watch specifically designed for the avid golfer. Romain Jerome took on the challenge and came up with the Hole in One Golf Counter - an ingenious timepiece that allows golfer to track their progress on the golf course and features golf-related design accouterments.
Beginning with the rust stabilization mechanism, Romain Jerome went delving into far-fetched concepts of Moon dust and Titanic ship. Bridging the watch lovers with science and history, Romain Jerome created two illustrious series of watches called Moon Dust DNA and Titanic DNA. These two signature series carried with them the actual semblance of moon and titanic ship in the form of moon dust, which was mixed with some natural pigment, and remnant of Titanic ship´s steel wreck. With such releases Romain Jerome has attained the status of immortality in the epoch of watch history.
Chemistry makes up a large part of a Romain Jerome watch. This interesting fact can be seen in many of its piece which use rusted steel. Iron oxide has always been the enemy of watchmaking but Romain Jerome´s master watchmakers have succeeded in developing a rust stabilization process that protect the rusted material from further corrosion, as can be seen in the Titanic DNA timepiece, which further comes with a certificate of compliance from Harland & Wolf, the shipbuilder of the Titanic.
Romain Jerome is known for their unique creations that are crafted from special materials like the previous moon watches that they have presented us. Just like the moon watch, this new Romain Jerome Titanic DNA is also a unique timepiece that should have a spot in your collection.
Like the Moon Watch that Romain Jerome has presented, the timepiece called as the Titanic DNA also includes a special material from the Titanic itself. This watch includes original rusts from the famous passenger ship that became a history when it sank down the ocean many years ago. This material is found on the watch´s bezel and on the cross on its dial.
This timepiece is also created with a ceramic material found on its oversized case. This watch also includes a coal also from Titanic that is vaporized and placed on its dial. This dial includes tonal hour numbers and hands with luminescent coating on the tip. This Titanic DNA also comes with either a crocodile leather or black rubber strap. The watch is being done is an edition of 2012 to celebrate the 100th anniversary of the Titanic in 2012 which is when Titanic II will be launched in Belfast. It is available in a case of platinum or white or pink gold with elements of steel and titanium.
Everyone in the industry is awaiting the second installment of Yvan Arpa´s "DNA of Famous Legends" collection. Bonus marks for those who can guess what´s coming next.
