By adjusting the six positional setting of the rib’s placement, the rotor’s inertia is modified, either speeding up the winding process in the case of minimal arm and hand movements, or slowing it down when high activity sports are pursued. As a result, this invention allows the movement’s winding mechanism to be optimized and personalized to the owner’s lifestyle. POWER RESERVE: 55 hours WATCHCASE This was the subject of an entire year of research and development. With regard to the production of each case, 68 different stamping operations are required for the three main components (bezel, middle section and case back). The machine tooling process requires 8 days of adjusting the machines for the bezel, 5 days for the middle section and 5 days for the case back. Prior to this process, developing a methodology for carrying out this series of operations took 120 hours, the drawings for the tools 130 hours, and implementation 180 hours. From nothing to debut in only three years´ time, Richard Mille´s unique and impossibly different designs have released fifteen designs in just six short years. New ideas on the forefront of Mille´s design thoughts, many new ideas and never-before approaches have led him to release these fantastic designs quickly. He wanted his watches to be easy to use, first and foremost. He wanted also for each watch to be fine and professional grade and he also infused the watches with artistic architecture. Common watch making guidelines and rules were broken when he came out onto the scene so quickly and dominated the exclusive watch market with his luxury timepieces.
Partnered with Dominique Guenat, the home base operation of Richard Mille watches is in Switzerland, in Les Breuleux, which is a town with a rich history in fine watch making. His passion for the technical side of watch making is the heart of the company. His watches feature incredible functionality, a very nice case, superior movement and dial, and more. The watches are also very ergonomically functional, and he has created these watches such that you can even throw one on the ground and it still works well. He has held every standard high in his watch making and continues to do so today.
