The renowned watch manufacturer Jaegar LeCoultre created the first Reverso Duo in
1944 when they replaced the protective backing with a second time display face.
The watch used on single movement to power both sets of hands as they went in opposite
directions, while keeping each display independently adjustable. With this new innovation,
Jaegar LeCoultre reinvented the GMT watch. These humbling beginnings lead to more
innovations in the Reverso series, leading up to the Jaegar LeCoultre Reverso Grande
and the Grande Reverso Duo. Both watches have new features that set them apart from
other Reverso brands.
The Jaegar LeCoultre Reverso Grande and Reverso Grand duo are set apart by
their large dimensions and a dial design that has been completely rethought to provide
enhanced elegance and better readability. The time zone is adjustable for travelers
using the crown located on the front ride side of the face. To better maintain precision
time in minutes and seconds the adjustment is made in one-hour increments of the
hour hand. The watch is also user-friendly as the date follows the traveler’s local
time display and it can jump forward and backwards. The display for home time is
located on the back.
The front of the Jaegar LeCoultre Reverso Grande and Grande Reverso duo shows
the small seconds and the date in an innermost arc of a circle opening, both easy
to read on the rectangular white dial. When you swivel the case it reveals the hidden
face of the Reverso in form of a double black dial that shows the time in a second
time zone and a with a 24 hour day and night indication. The Grande Reverso Duo
is powered by a caliber that drives all six hands. The large balance swings at 28,800
vibrations per hour. Since it is a larger size, it is also possible to increase
the power reserve to 48 hours.
