IWC Da Vinci Collection - Begin Exploring the Artistic Beauty
When the International Watch Company (IWC) came to be in Schaffhausen, Switzerland,
an American watch maker, Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841–1916), knew that utilizing
the technology that Americans created watches with and the beauty of Swiss watches,
the ultimate watch could be made. Starting in the 1800's, IWC quickly rose to the
top among many other high quality watches. IWC was set apart from the others with
the intricacy of the design as well as the long lasting function the watches have
to offer. These time pieces and collections such as the IWC Da Vinci Collection
are not only able to be worn every day, but handed down from generation to generation.

With Leonardo Da Vinci being the mastermind behind many of the machines and inventions
still used today, it is no wonder that the International Watch Company found it
necessary to utilize Da Vinci's amazing creations. Da Vinci had a great enthusiasm
for time measurement and how to precisely obtain it. Through inventions like bevel
gears, spring drives and gear drives, keeping time has become reality. With over
6,000 pages of manuscripts left behind, IWC was able to introduce the first watch
in the IWC Da Vinci Collection in the 1960s. However, it was not until 1985
that IWC introduced the mechanical chronograph watch that allows the wearer to have
the phase of the moon, the millennium, century, decade, year, month, day and date
simply set only using the crown.
After years of following in Da Vinci's footsteps and on the edge of discovery with
every move of the gear, IWC decided that it was time to create a complete family,
or collection, of Da Vinci watches. With the introduction of the colored ceramic
case in 1986 and the tenth watch released in 1995, the Da Vinci Rattrapante, IWC
continued to outdo themselves. In 2007, all of the Da Vinci watches had a design
change and now continue to be made in a case that is tonneau shaped. The IWC Da Vinci
Collection is one of a king due to the watch in watch function that each watch holds.
With this function, the hours and minutes can be viewed like they would be on a
normal watch, and the chronograph can be directly read.
The IWC Da Vinci Collection provides the wearer with various specialties
such as a floating chapter ring and a three dimensional dial. Now is the time to
explore the family of Da Vinci watches
