IWC Aquatimer Collection - The Perfect Sports Watch
In the mid-1800's Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841–1916), a watchmaker from America
decided that it was time to combine the beautiful intricacy of Swiss watches with
technology of American watches. Joining with Johann Heinrich Moser of Switzerland,
they combined forces and began the International Watch Company in Schaffhausen (IWC).
This is the only major watch company that is in the eastern portion of Switzerland.
Even today this watch company remains a go to company for many, men and women alike,
who are looking for a high quality watch with exceptional mechanics. The craftsmanship
and quality of these watches is not only a tradition that has been maintained for
over 140 years, but watch collections like the IWC Aquatimer Collection continue
to be the lead in functional design, precision and watch longevity.

The IWC Aquatimer Collection can offer watches that are perfect for everyday
wear and even more so for sporting wear. When scuba diving started becoming more
and more popular, IWC decided that it was time to get in the game and offer a dive
watch that would not only serve the purposes needed for the avid diver, but also
look stunning. Since IWC is an active part of maintaining a healthy planet, becoming
involved in protecting the world underwater only seemed right. In 1967, IWC released
the Aquatimer. This watch showed dive time and was pressure resistant up to 20 bar.
Then, in 1982, the next watch in the collection, the Ocean 2000, was able to allow
divers to have pressure resistance up to 200 bar and a watch made of titanium.
In 1997, the next watch to be released in the IWC Aquatimer Collection was
the new addition of GST sport watches. This enabled the watches to continue to be
worn for sports adventures, but also to be worn every day. Of course, IWC did not
stop there. With the 1999 release of the Deep One, divers were able to have their
mechanical depth gauge on their wrist and then in 2009, the Aquatimer Deep Two was
released.
Of course, chronograph and automatic watches can be found in the IWC Aquatimer
Collection as well as special features found only with IWC. This includes a quick
change system that will allow you to change the stainless steel every day bracelet
to a hook and loop strap that can be worn easily over a dive suit without needing
any tools. If you want precision and beauty in a quality sports watch, the Aquatimer
Collection is a perfect option.
