In the mid-1800's Florentine Ariosto Jones (1841–1916), a watchmaker from America decided that it was time to combine the beautiful intricacy of Swiss watches with technology of American watches. Joining with Johann Heinrich Moser of Switzerland, they combined forces and began the International Watch Company in Schaffhausen (IWC). This is the only major watch company that is in the eastern portion of Switzerland. With the 1999 release of the Deep One, divers were able to have their mechanical depth gauge on their wrist and then in 2009, the Aquatimer Deep Two was released.
