Carl F. Bucherer started out as a watch and jewelry dealer in Lucerne, Switzerland in 1888. The store became quite profitable and popular and brand name stores expanded to several other locations within Switzerland. This company became the largest watch dealer in the region and continued to be passed down through the family.

In 2001 Carl F. Bucherer watch collections were present at the Basel watch show where many people discovered this brand name for the first time. It was a surprise for watch enthusiasts to learn of this company that had been manufacturing watches for many decades. The watch dealer then began an international distributorship so the watches could be purchased from anywhere in the world.

The first Carl F. Bucherer watch that featured the company’s own movement, CFB 1901, was the Patravi Chronograph GMT. The CFB A1000, a movement they introduced in 2009 to their watch collection won the Goldene Unruh award (given for exceptional watch movements each year). Not only did this movement exemplify innovation, it was also made with fewer parts enhancing its life expectancy.

Carl F. Bucherer is currently still a watch maker of uniquely designed and high quality watches. This brand name of watches is still privately owned and has 33 locations throughout Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The company’s philosophy throughout the generations has been to leave their mark and to go their own way which is displayed through their watch collections.
