Breitling Chronomat Evolution watches are in the forefront in precision and
style among the mechanical chronographs. The watches are rated very high by the
connoisseurs of time. Justifying the nomen clature, Evolution the watch features
many novelties which has made the Evolutions the crowing glory of Breitling.
Chronomat Evolution has taken a detour from the traditional Chronomats by
opting for a huge 43.7 mm instead of the smaller 40 mm case. The watch derives its
power from a movement called Caliber 13. This movement has a proven power reserve
for 42 hours. When it comes to precision there is no match for this. The error limit
is only about one to two seconds in 24 hours, a remarkable achievement for a mechanical
movement.
There are quite a few marked deviations which make the model stand out from its
predecessor which it substituted in 2005. A glimpse of this high-end watch
reveals the compelling circular pattern of the main dial enclosing three guilloche
engraved silver sub-dials. The watch is fitted with somewhat rugged pilot bracelets
of 22-20mm width. The chronometer is equipped with locking pushers which you have
to unscrew before operation and screw again to after use. This is not merely an
add on feature introduced for the heck of it. It increases the water resistance
of the Evolution watch by another two hundred more meters, giving it a comfortable
water resistance at 300 meters.
Breitling Chronomat Evolution watches are presented in different faces. There
is the all stainless steel model with a marvelous blue dial artistically accommodating
three beautiful silver subdials. In these models the indices are marked by small
rectangular patches of silver hue that standout stunningly in the blue background.
There are models with Arabic numerals as well as with Roman numerals. The Roman
numeral models are presented in two tones or in gold. The Breitling Chronomat Evolution
is indeed a rugged and stylish watch that is meant for lovers of an active and adventurous
life.
