Lange and Sohne Zeitwerk Collection - Enticing Your Senses
With World War II bearing down on Germany, Ferdinand Adolph Lange, a native German,
was unable to see his dream of a successful watch business and a school for those
who wanted to learn the art of making watches become a reality. Yet, even after
his death, four generation later, the Lange family dream was revealed again. Not
only were they able to begin making watches, but also open the school for others
to learn the trade. However, the sales of watches did not begin until 1994. This
is due to not only the long amount of time it takes to make a handcrafted watch,
but also the desire for perfection. Since Lange and Sohne watches are products of
perfection, there are only a few collections available such as the
Lange and Sohne
Zeitwerk
Collection.

When creating a new collection of watches, the watchmakers at Lange and Sohne wanted
to not only help people keep time in a sophisticated manner, but also allow those
wearing the watch to have an experience. This is how the Lange and Sohne Zeitwerk
Collection came to be. This time piece allows the wearer to truly experience time
while wearing it. The display for minutes and hours are all mechanical and the common
hands used in watches are replaced by discs that rotate permanently. Also, other
changes from the normal watch construction are the legibility of the numerals as
well as the switching steps.
With three time piece options within the Lange and Sohne Zeitwerk Collection,
it is easy to understand the small collections due to the intricacy of the design.
Precision horology has a new level to reach due to this time piece. However, Lange
and Sohne did not stop there; they decided to add luminosity so that more senses
could be enticed. Then, again Lange and Sohne wanted to attract another sense with
the "striking time" watch with which the wearer can actually hear the watch actively
working.
No matter which option you go with when it comes to the Lange and Sohne Zeitwerk
Collection, as with all watches from this company, you will have two choices in
precious metal to have your watch built with, 18-karat gold or platinum. And, with
every watch, top of the line a hand stitched crocodile strap and a see through case
back made of sapphire-crystal glass. Be prepared to have all of your senses enticed
with your new Lange and Sohne Zeitwerk watch.
