S.T. Dupont Pens
Born in Savoy to a family of millers, Simon Tissot-Dupont at the young age of twenty-five
started a legacy. Enterprising and passionate about success and business, he launched
a career that would travel continents and create a dynasty.
In Paris, 1872, S.T. Dupont
established what would become quite the prestigious leather shop. In 1920, Andre
and Lucien Dupont, the sons of S.T. opened themselves up to innovation and exclusivity.
Creating travel cases, they crafted one of a kind pieces and placed them in their
salons. In 1947 they created a very special piece, a wedding gift for Princes Elisabeth
of England, the future Queen.
In 1935, the Dupont brothers continued their quest for excellence and began looking
for a master plater, an expert in pure gold plating. A misprint in their advertisement
brought them a master lacquerer, and a secret that is still in their hands today:
lacquer on metal. Andre Dupont, in 1941, decided with World War II scarce supplies
something unique and useable was needed; therefore he took his gold-smith knowledge
and developed the first pocket lighter. In 1952, the gas lighter, patented and successful
hit the market.
In 1973, S.T. Dupont crafted the first luxurious jeweled pen. A beautiful ballpoint
pen masterfully created in solid silver, and the Classique was born. A creation
of art, used for the art of writing, bringing satisfaction and sophistication to
every desk and pocket that could afford such excellence. A revolution had begun,
functional and technical in it’s purpose, but very personal in the style and delight
the pen delivered. In 1996, the Olympio was presented, strictly for the pleasure
of writing. More collections followed and once again the innovation of the Duponts’
was clear.
Writing instruments created and crafted for someone personally, a very intimate
gift, a personal, sophisticated elegance, provided to someone like a beautiful diamond
bracelet, reflecting the love of writing that is synonymous with the name S.T. Dupont.
The S.T.
Dupont pens are crafted for men and women, collections that clearly
are distinctive for the owner and inspired by technology so that they can incorporate
other useful items. The New-Classique President is a fine example, a luxury writing
instrument, but equipped with a USB key; innovative, brilliant and coupling technology
with glamour.
S.T. Dupont continues in the drive for perfection and design excellence. Supplying
kings, emperors, ambassadors, maharajahs, celebrities, and even the more common
folk, S.T. Dupont pens provide a craftsmanship that makes everyone smile
when they take on the art of writing.
